After months of development and dark thinking we released today first version of self-management system service, GTDtab.com. It is numbered 0.1.0 and codenamed Ardennes after Ardennes Offensive, notable battle of World War II. Similar to RSStab.com, another service of same provider, Ajax is used for background operations.
New features
- Service is composed from applications, two of them were released in this version, Stuff and Address Book.
- Stuff is GTD application core:
- Collecting new stuff into Inbox.
- Boxes Inbox, Next Actions, Waiting For, Someday/Maybe, Done and Trash.
- Virtual box Schedule for showing things/tasks with assigned date and/or timeframe.
- Searching in boxes.
- Prioritizing of tasks, with color distinguishing into 5 levels.
- Fragment of task comments is visible in Gmail-like way.
- Fast way to mark task as Done or move it to Trash.
- Mark task as done in 2 minutes.
- Address Book is contacts organization system:
- Persons and Companies contact informations.
- Searching.
- Very structured details.
- Formats for displaying names.
- Clock and calendar leaf in bottom right corner of window.
- Setting user own timezone for dates, times, clock and calendar leaf widgets.
- This support blog was created.
- User login credentials are shared with service RSStab.com.
- Non-stress design. Really, we tried a lot of colors, and combination blue with gray has lowest stressing impact. We are mad in this, becouse GTD is supposed to be stress-full system.
- This is our first service without issues in Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.
- Retractable top bar to have more space.
Known issues
- Some broken layout and minor issues in WebKit based browsers (Safari, Google Chrome, Konqueror, …).
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 was not tested for compatibility.
- Lack of full-featured calendar for Stuff.
- Lack of Projects folder.
- Lack of boxes/organization of support material - References.
We work pretty hard to fix issues 3-5. Thank for your patience. We hope you will like this bright new service.
So say we all!
